 LookFor Author:Boro | Lets you know when an NPC, player, herb, tracked object, or anything else you are looking for is mouseovered, using text searches in the tooltips. Helpful when trying to find an elite mob, named quest mob, quest objects, herbs, ore, etc. in a crowd.
UPDATED! Now it finally searches all tooltips, so it can be used on minimap blips, world objects like chests and herbs, etc.
Usage:
/lookfor ain
returns found when you mouseover something with"ain" in its name
(e.g. Plainstrider, but not Boro)
/lookfor ain, wolf, venture
/lookfor any ain, wolf, venture
returns found when you mouseover something with either"ain","wolf", or"venture" in its name
(e.g. Plainstrider, Gray Wolf, Venture Co. Hireling, but not Orgrimmar Grunt)
/lookfor all ain, elder
returns found when you mouseover something with both"ain" and"elder" in its name
(e.g. Elder Plainstrider, but not Ornary Plainstrider)
/lookfor
tells you what you are currently looking for
/lookfor clear
clears the list, doesnt report anything anymore
/lookfor showbanner
/lookfor showchat
/lookfor playsound
toggles display of banner message, chat message, and the sound effect
/lookfor help
gives you the list of commands
* Using the term"elite" (e.g. /lookfor all deviate, elite) will find mobs that are elite.
* All searches are case insensitive.
* You can also use /lf instead of /lookfor
Config: You can edit the config (very easily) to enable/disable finding matches in corpses, enable/disable finding matches on your current target (the spam can be annoying, disabled by default), enable/disable OnUpdate (better performance, but only NPCs and players are searched), and more
Note: This is my first mod, so it's pretty messy. Big thanks to Telo, whose awesome scripts provided a basis for mine.
TODO: Right now this searches every single tooltip that pops up, so the OnUpdate might make it slow down a bit. The code shouldn't be too bulky for this event, but if it is, disable the
LOOKFOR_SEARCH_ONUPDATE in the config. I also need to disable it for UI tooltips (buttons and actionbars).
