 BGinvite Author:Gibybo | *Announcement* I could use some people to help me test new versions since it can really only be tested in battlegrounds and getting in a BG on my server is a rather difficult task. Even then I am severely limited in what I can test because I am having to play rather than just fiddle with the code. If you want to help please send an email to gibybo'at' gmail (dot) com. (Experience with the lua scripting language is preferred but not required)
BGinvite automatically handles raid invites for Warsong Gulch, Alterac Valley, and Arathi Basin - No more'invite plz!11!'.
Typing'/bginvite' at any time will send an invite to everyone in your battleground instance and form the raid group if necessary.
Note: Versions may at times have (Alpha/Beta) next to them. This refers only to that patch's current state of testing. Another release of that same version may or may not occur at a later date with further testing. I may end up just going to a new version with new features before completely testing that old version.
Alpha: Very little testing, if any - but the mod does load.
Beta: Seems to work after playing a WSG/AV or two :/
Commands:
/bginvite - Opens the GUI (Pre 1.2 this sends invites) [Post 1.2, either set a key binding in the key bindings option to send invites, or use the button in the GUI]
/bginvite invite - Sends an invite to everyone in the instance and forms a raid group automatically when applicable.
/bginvite auto on - Turns auto-inviting* on
/bginvite auto off - Turns auto-inviting* off
*Auto-inviting - The mod will automatically invite new players as they join the instance as well as inviting people as they leave their group.
/bginvite purge on - Turns purging* on
/bginvite purge off - Turns purging* off
*Purging - If purging is enabled, any player in your raid group will be removed whenever they leave the BG.
/bginvite promote all - Promotes everyone in the raid to assistant.
/bginvite demote all - Demotes all assistants to non-assistants.
/bginvite blacklist - Displays the blacklist. Blacklisted players will not be invited by the mod.
/bginvite blacklist add<name> - Adds a player to the blacklist.
/bginvite blacklist remove<name> - Removes a player from the blacklist.
/bginvite magicword<word or phrase> - Sets the magicword. If the magicword is'invite' (by default it is), it will auto-invite anyone asking you for an invite in a tell. Note: Only works inside the battlegrounds (theoretically...).
/bginvite help - Shows a listing of commands and descriptions in-game.
/bginvite version - Shows the version # you are running
Your settings will be saved through your play sessions.
Upcoming changes
- Full GUI config of the messages it sends out. Will be able to modify what the messages say as well as enable/disable them.
Known Issues
- There is a problem when converting a group into a raid.
- No messages seem to be being sent to others in either /say or /whisper
- It is not removing people from the raid when they leave, it tries to remove them but doesn't find their name
- It is not hiding"That player is already in a group" messages when auto-inviting
- The soundfile'that player is already in a group' sometimes plays repeatedly. Workarounds: 1) Turn auto-inviting off until that BG is over, or 2) Press esc -> Sound Otions -> ucheck'Enable Error Speech'
- It may occasionally annoy other players with rapid invites and messages when not intended to. (This is a top priority to fix, it's just a fairly complicated problem)
